Week of December 8th
Interims go home on Monday. My SRA classes will be on lessons 50-54 this week, and I will be checking the packets by the end of the week for an extra grade.
The Math classes are working on adding and subtracting fractions this week and the practice workbook pages to give extra practice are: from the Glenco book pages 43, 44, 45, and 46; from the Prentice Hall book pages 45, 46, and 47.
The Math classes are working on their next project which is the Christmas Wish List. The students are to come up with 10 items for their wish list and begin by estimating the cost of each item. The items must be less than $150 each. The students will then try to find the actual price for each item. They must give the totals for their 10 items, both the estimated price and the actual price. The students will tell where they found the prices for the items. They are given a budget to see what they can get from their wish list. The students must present their project to the class on a poster board. The posters should be decorative. This is an excellent way to show how creative the students can be.
Mrs. Comer's class will be reading "Why Monkeys Live in Trees" and "The Legend of the Hummingbird". The class will be working on pronouns and we will introduce antecednt and pronoun agreement. We will also begin the "Chronological order" paper this week.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
