Here is an easy way to remember several of the coordinating conjunctions: FANBOYS
F=for
A=and
N=nor
B=but/because
O=or
Y=yet
S=so

(4+3) = 7
(S+V) = simple sentence
(4+3) + (4+3) = 14
(S+V) + (S+V) = compound sentence
